Window Film

Film Facts

Film Facts

Every day thousands of people make what they think is a simple decision – to have their vehicle’s windows tinted but.. it all becomes really complicated and confusing when it actually comes to shopping around.

The price to have film installed on an average car in the local market can range from as little as $150 to $225 for the very same vehicle. But how is the average consumer to know why there is such a wide range of prices? They must know what type of window film they are buying and how it will be applied.

Non-Reflective Quick Dry / Quick Dry Plus
As the name states, these non-reflective charcoal films offer extremely quick dry times for faster installations, to assure immediate customer satisfaction – especially in colder climate conditions. Our non-metallized Quick Dry films are the perfect solution for cars with embedded antennas, cellular and GPS systems. Quick Dry Plus is a slightly thicker film than Quick Dry. Both films are backed by our lifetime warranty and are available in a full range of options including 5, 20, 30, 40 and 50 percent visible light transmissions to meet compliance regulations for any state or local laws.

High Performance “Charcoal” Film
High Performance (HP) Charcoal is a professional quality metallized window film that provides maximum heat rejection and aesthetic appeal. These attractive films are color stable and covered by a lifetime warranty. They are available in 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 percent visible light transmissions, providing choices for compliance with any state or local laws.

All Metal Film
This product is just what the name implies. It is “all metal” meaning it is a reflective film with no dyes for color. The visual effect is a slightly “mirrored” or silver appearance. Our “Executive” film is an all metal film type, and is becoming increasingly popular. One advantage of this film is that the lifetime warranty also covers color change, because no dye means it cannot turn purple and unlikely to fade.

Quality of Installation
Another issue to be concerned with is the installation procedure. There are shortcuts that can be taken which can affect you getting a quality tinting job. A one piece rear window is essential in almost every application. Whenever possible, the film applied on the rear window of a car should be one sheet of film heat formed to eliminate the need for multiple pieces or seams in the application that looks poor and can cause premature peeling at the seam lines. Proper cleaning of the glass before the film is applied is essential for positive film adhesion. The proper gap at the edge of the door glass is also important for a quality tinting job. Too close and the film may peel, too wide looks unprofessional when the window is rolled down.

Other Things To Know
No, it’s not brain surgery, but there are certain things you should know before you have your vehicle tinted at any shop. Such as how long they have been in business, how long has the installer has been tinting, and if the warranty covers labor for film replacement should it be needed. Based on the information given on this page, you should be able to make an informed decision in having us, or anyone else for that matter, install window film on your vehicle’s windows. Once you do, you will enjoy added comfort, beauty, safety, and value to your auto for years to come.
